In the 22nd century you are the ShadowForce, an elite team whose
mission is to investigate the shutdown of Icarus, a government
genetic warfare facility. You encounter the deadly Overlord, and
you discover the awful secret behind Icarus. ShadowForce is a
graphical adventure game with the feel and playability of the old
text adventures.

INSTALLATION
============
If you have downloaded this program from a BBS there is no need to
install it.  Simply unzip the files into a directory and begin the
game.  If you have obtained ShadowForce from a shareware vendor you
may need to install the software to your hard drive.  To install
ShadowForce, place the diskette into the A drive and type A:, or
into the B drive and type B:.  When the A> or B> prompt appears on
the screen, type INSTALL.  Follow the directions to install the
software.

To begin the game type SFORCE.

You will then be given a brief analysis of your system.  You may
either start the game with the default system configuration, or you
may change your configuration by pressing the Escape key.  Once the
game is started, a title sequence is displayed, which may be aborted
at any time by hitting any key or pressing the left mouse button.

You will then be taken to the Headquarters of Earth Central Command,
where you can chose and be briefed on three distinct missions.
(Note that only the first mission is available in the shareware
version of ShadowForce.)

NOTE TO WINDOWS USERS
---------------------
ShadowForce is a DOS program and is meant to run from DOS.  You may
be able to run it from Windows if you configure it for no sound or
music.

DOS requires that a mouse driver is loaded before any program can
recognize the mouse.  Windows has a built-in mouse driver, but this
will not work in DOS.  Before you attempt to run ShadowForce make
sure the MOUSE.COM or MOUSE.SYS file is loaded.  This file is
provided on a disk that came with your mouse.  Check your DOS manual
if you don't know how to load this file.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

ShadowForce requires a 100% IBM compatible computer, 286 or better
(a 386 or higher is recommended) with DOS 3.3 or higher installed.

It also requires a minimum of 500k free conventional memory, a
standard color VGA or SVGA card, and about two-and-a-half megab
